BDS course

BDS (Bachelor of dentistry Surgery) is a 5-year undergraduate degree that is India’s sole certified professional dentistry course. After completing the BDS course, students become physicians. BDS ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

In India, students must pass a 10+2 exam or obtain an equivalent degree with at least 50% from a recognized institute in order to be admitted to BDS courses. In most cases, a single admission test is administered throughout India. The admission test, known as the National Eligibility cum admission test (NEET), is held at the national level once a year.

Admission to BDS is often obtained through the national-level NEET test, which is administered throughout the country.

Since 2016, admittance to medical degrees like as MBBS and BDS have required candidates to take the NEET exam.

To be eligible for the course, the student must get at least 50% in the 10+2 qualifying exam.

Candidates must pass a recognized Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology.

Mathematics or any other elective subject taught alongside English as mandated by the NCERT.

NIOS applicants are now eligible, subject to the ongoing legal proceedings.

Students from foreign/international boards are eligible provided their qualification test matches the equivalence decided by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) in accordance with the requirements of the Dental Council of India and the relevant university.

Unreserved applicants, as well as OCI, NRI, and overseas candidates, must have scored at least 50% on their qualifying exams in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology.

students from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes (OBC) must score 40%, whereas PwD students must get 45% in qualifying exams.

Candidates must be at least 17 years old at the time of admission or by December 31 of the same year.

The candidates are allowed to enter the admission process of the college only if they meet the eligibility criteria.

Once the students clear the cut-off set for the exam, they can proceed with the counseling sessions for admission to the college.
