CHENNAI: As the summer heat has begun in Tamil Nadu, temperatures are crossing 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has informed that it will rain in 15 districts in the next 2.30 hours.
Tamil Nadu has been severely affected by the heat wave since the end of February. Especially in April, the heat in many districts exceeded 100 degrees Fahrenheit as an assault.
In this case, the announcement of rain has been released. In other words, in the next 2.30 hours (up to 10 pm), 15 districts will experience thunder and lightning rain, according to the Meteorological Department.
Orange alert has been issued for moderate rain with thunder and lightning in 13 districts namely Erode, Nilgiris, Karur, Namakkal, Trichy, Perambalur, Dindigul, Theni, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Thenkasi, Nellai, Thoothukudi in the next 2.30 hours. Similarly, yellow alert has been given for light rain with thunder and lightning in Salem and Coimbatore.
Earlier this afternoon the weather report had said that there will be rain in Tamil Nadu for the next 7 days.The report stated that the upper atmospheric layer over Tamil Nadu had fluctuating wind directions.
Hence, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning and gusty winds (30 kmph to 40 kmph) may occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu today and tomorrow.

On 9th, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning and gusty winds (30 kmph to 40 kmph) may occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal. Light to moderate rain may occur at a couple of places in Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal on 10th and 11th.

Heat wave is likely to hit a couple of places in the interior districts of North Tamil Nadu today and tomorrow. The sky in Chennai will be partially cloudy during the next 48 hours.
The highest temperature is expected to be around 39-40 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature will be around 29-30 degrees Celsius.
Cyclonic winds with a speed of 45 to 55 kmph and occasional gusts of 65 kmph are likely to occur over coastal South Andhra Pradesh tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. Fishermen are advised not to go to these areas on the above mentioned days.
